متى اليوم الوطني السعودي Saudi Arabia celebrates its National Day on September 23rd every year in the memory of the birth of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is locally known as Al-Yaom-ul-Watany and marks the day September 23rd, 1932 when King Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud announced the unification of the country as a kingdom and renaming the Kingdom of Nejd and Hejaz to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi National Day اليوم الوطني السعودي has been recognized officially as a national day way back in the year 2005. This year iterates the celebration of 92nd Saudi National Day 2022.
Celebrations Across KSA
Previously, only religious holidays were celebrated in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, later people started to celebrate the highly significant commemoration. On KSA National Day all buildings and public spaces will be adorned with green decorations and green balloons will be given away at many shopping centers and parks. The holiday will become an occasion for traditional festivals, entertainment programs, art exhibitions and many other cultural events. The historic city of Old Jeddah hosts music, poetry and film exhibitions. For the citizens of Saudi Arabia, it is a good opportunity to spend time with family & friends and reflect on the country’s progress and prosperity.
Events To Be Held During 92nd Saudi National Day
To honor the Saudi Day, many events take place across the kingdom and the Saudi citizens participate in the events and celebrate the auspicious occasion with great joy.
This year the events kickstarted with Airshow at the Jeddah’s waterfront. The airshow included 60 civilian and military aircrafts, that flew high to put on a colourful show. The aircrafts came together and performed different formations parallel to the sea, leaving behind the trail of red and green colors.
The General Entertainment Authority has launched an initiative called “We sing to our country” where the citizens can participate with a personal video of singing the national anthem. The event will be telecasted on September 23rd on the Saudi TV Channel at 4.00 p.m. local time.
Jeddah Deputy Mayor of Community Services Ayedh Ali Al-Zahrani said that the municipality along with ‘Association for Children with Disabilities’ will organize an online drawing competition for pictures and drawings depicting the kingdom with title ’92 years’ for 30 days.
The municipality of Jeddah has launched the ‘Draw the Nation’ initiative, where numerous old cars have been painted by artists and will be kept for display on Jeddah’s new waterfront and main square from September 23rd.
A 92-meter mural will be unveiled in Al-Serafi Mega Mall in association with the Jeddah Eye Association.

To honour Saudi Arabia National Day, the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced the dates for the National Day KSA 2022 holidays. The Ministry stated that for public sector employees, the holidays will be on 23rd and 24th September 2022. While the private sector will have a holiday on September 23rd.
On National Day, one can find many people wearing green & white clothes and taking pride in their heritage as countless green flags are waved. The roads and buildings are decorated with Saudi flags, green & white Saudi balloons can be spotted around the kingdom. Concerts in September
Concerts are also one kind of attraction during the National Day celebrations. Saudi Arabia will host its concerts with a series of performances featuring 11 stars across the Arab world, according to Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of Entertainment Authority.
To celebrate the occasion, the Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA) will host concerts performed by 5 stars namely Rashed Al Majed, Abadi Al Johar, Aseel Abu Bakr, Dalia Mubarak, Majid Al Mohandes, and Rabih Saqer.
